In autumn, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church holds a special ceremony for pets of the Church family and community. The ceremony is conducted in memory of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures. We recognize the special place pets hold in many families and it is our joy to bestow a special blessing upon them each year.

FCPC held its fifth annual Pet Blessing on Saturday, November 3rd at 11 a.m. For the second year in a row we had wonderful weather so the event was held in the new playground area outside. In total, we had 3 cats and 22 dogs blessed by Rev. Geoff Knight, Letha Cope and Chet Dickson. Twenty of the pets were from area residents, who expressed their deepest gratitude for us having this event each year! We are planning next year's event to be the first Saturday in October.
